One of the most important responsibilities of an early intervention program is the development, nurturing and maintenance of an effective partnership with families. Recommended practice suggests that the best type of relationship that can develop between parents and professionals is one in which parents are viewed as full-fledged partners.
The Bell Center recognizes the following about our families:
- Family members spend more time with their child than anyone else
- Parents have more information about their child than anyone else
- How a family “works” will determine what types of intervention will “work” for the family and their child
- Families have the ultimate control over the services provided for their children and themselves.
The Bell Center is committed to establishing a partnership with each of our families and we work hard daily to build trusting relationships that will allow a true partnership to flourish. Our ultimate goal is to empower families to enable them to help their child reach his or her maximum potential.
